I'll just go ahead and admit I'm a bit of a sucker for light-hearted, feel good rap. But just like many Korean females I'm also a sucker for anything with Dean's heart liquefying voice. Add Zico to the mix and I'm sold.
Ironically, though, the first time I heard this song I had no idea that Dean or Zico were involved..

Don't give me that look. Hear me out--
Anyone that knows me knows that I don't like waiting for new episodes of anything I'm really into--I would just rather wait until the show is completed. Combine that with the natural human desire to avoid spoilers and you have a Rina who is usually a month or two behind on any music SMTM related.
So the first time I heard the song, Killagramz himself came into the club I was partyin' at with some friends. I had no idea he was going to be there--I just happened to be at the right place at the right time (for once).
Now, admittedly, before that night I was fairly neutral to Killagramz--I could recognize his talent but ultimately from what I saw on SMTM 5 he just wasn't really my style. At some point I will have to take a look at that season again to see if I just missed something because from that fateful night on, he had my attention.
That performance did a lot more than make me a fan of Killagramz, however. It was the first time I had ever seen a rapper I am familiar with perform live and it was absolutely amazing. His song got everyone hype--there are truly no words for the energy that filled the club. I was dancin' and connectin' with people that I had never met and I was lovin' it.
Here's a clip to give a very small taste of what it was like:
(Forgive the poor video quality--like I said, it was unexpected so I recorded it with my cellphone while dancin' around because I was feeling the music a little too much to stop entirely to take a video [though honestly the video doesn't do his performance justice])
In that moment I felt a revitalized adoration of K-hiphop and R&B that ultimately led me to creating SouKorina. And every time I hear this song I am reminded of that moment and am filled with automatic bliss.
So I would be amiss if I did not name this song as one of my Vibes of the Week.
So without further ado, this week's Vibe of the Week:
어디 by Killagramz (킬라그램) ft. Dean and Zico (지코)
As always, thanks for reading!

P.S.-Patrons look out for an additional clip of Killagramz from that night on my Patreon page!
